Its next-generation GORE-TEX ePE membrane is light, thin, strong, and free from intentionally added PFAS, while C-KNIT backer technology improves comfort and breathability. The helmet-compatible StormHood protects without compromising vision, pit zippers ventilate, and a RECCO reflector can aid in search situations.

With a fitted cut and a weight of 300 g in size M, it delivers complete waterproof, windproof, breathable protection without sacrificing features or packability. The 40D and 70D 3L GORE-TEX ePE fabric combines lighter 40D panels with more robust 70D sections in high-wear areas, and the dual hem adjustment lets you seal out drafts.

Frequently asked questions Can I wear this jacket while carrying a hiking backpack? Yes. The GORE-TEX membrane is not affected by the pressure of backpack straps, so the jacket remains fully waterproof. Over time the DWR on the shoulders may wear down faster and need reapplying to keep water beading on the surface. How is the hem adjusted? The Beta SL Jacket has a dual hem adjustment system with one cinch on each side, letting you adjust the fit at the hem and help seal out drafts. Is this jacket suitable for skiing? It can be worn for skiing as an all-round mountain shell with lightweight weather protection, but it does not include ski-specific features such as a longer cut, dump pockets, or a powder skirt. Does the jacket need to be washed or re-waterproofed before first use? No. The jacket is ready to wear straight away and does not need washing or re-waterproofing before first use. The GORE-TEX construction is fully waterproof, and the DWR can be reactivated later by washing and drying if water stops beading.
